COLOMBO (News 1st); President Anura Kumara Dissanayake departed the country today to attend the 2025 World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
This visit is at the invitation of UAE President Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism, President Dissanayake will be in the UAE from today until the 13th of this month.
During the visit, President Disanayaka will address the World Government Summit 2025 in Dubai and hold bilateral discussions with President Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan on a range of areas of mutual interest.
He is also scheduled to meet Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.
In addition, bilateral discussions are planned between President Dissanayake and several other heads of state attending the summit.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism also stated that President Dissanayake will hold discussions with CEOs of leading global companies in the fields of information technology, artificial intelligence, energy, tourism, finance, and media, with the aim of attracting investments to Sri Lanka.
