Health Ministry Highlights Weaknesses in Jeevanee Distribution Across the Island

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ministry of Health says that there are reports of weaknesses in the distribution of Jeevanee across the island.

The Ministry of Health says that the equipment currently used for the production of Jeevanee is just one machine, and that too is 12 years old.

It has also been revealed that it is not possible to produce Jeevanee sufficient to meet the market demand, using this machine.

Jeevanee is used as treatment for dehydration caused by vomiting and diarrhoea.

Minister of Health and Mass Media, Dr. Nalinda Jayathissa, says that to maintain an uninterrupted supply of Jeevanee in the market, new machinery should be installed, and the production capacity should be made efficient.
