Accident on Southern Expressway: 1 Dead, 15 Injured

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An accident was reported early this morning on the Southern Expressway, between Aparekka and Beliatta, when a bus carrying Russian tourists collided with a cement-laden lorry.

The crash resulted in the death of the bus driver and left 15 tourists injured.

The 15 injured tourists, who sustained various injuries, were immediately taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

Police have launched investigations into the accident.
