School Girl Kidnapped from Gampola Found in Ampara, Suspect Arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st); A school girl who was kidnapped from Daulagala, Gampola, has been found in Ampara. Police confirmed that the suspect, a relative of the girl’s family, was arrested while transporting the girl from Ampara to Kandy.

The girl is currently in police custody and is scheduled to be interviewed and presented to a doctor. She was abducted while on her way to school the previous morning.

The van used in the abduction was discovered abandoned in the Polonnaruwa area, and the driver of the van was arrested in Gampola.
