Police Investigate Attempted Shooting of Dried Fish Trader in Devinuwara

Police have launched an investigation to locate two individuals who attempted to shoot a dried fish trader in the Talpawila area of Devinuwara.

Yesterday, around 4:45 PM, two individuals arrived on a motorcycle in front of the trader's house, expressing their interest in purchasing dried fish.

As the trader approached his gate, the individual seated at the back of the motorcycle aimed a gun at him, as captured by CCTV cameras.

However, the police stated that the firearm did not discharge during the incident.

The CCTV footage also shows the suspect retrieving the live round that had been ejected from the firearm.

It has been revealed that the motorcycle used in the attempted shooting is registered under the name of an individual from the Siththandi area in Batticaloa.
