Inflation Hits -1.7% in December 2024

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The overall rate of inflation, as measured by the Colombo Consumer Price Index (CCPI) on a year-on-year basis, increased to -1.7% in December 2024, up from -2.1% in November.

According to the Department of Census and Statistics, food inflation rose to 0.8% in December, compared to 0.6% in November.

Non-food inflation also saw an uptick, increasing to -3.0% in December from -3.3% in November 2024.
