Ministry of Education to Distribute School Uniforms to Over 4.6 Million Students Before New Term

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Education says that instructions have been given to provide students with school uniforms before the start of the new school term.

The Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Nalaka Kaluwewa, stated that these school uniforms will be sent to schools through the respective zonal education offices.

This year, all school uniforms were received as a donation from the Chinese government.

For the year 2025, the required amount of fabric for school uniforms has been recorded as 11,817 million meters.

The Ministry of Education has announced that the number of students designated to receive school uniforms is 4,640,086.

The Secretary of the Ministry stated that arrangements are being made to distribute the uniforms to students before the start of the new school term on January 27.
