Karadiyanaru Police OIC Arrested Over Car Accident

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Karadiyanaru Police station has been arrested in connection with a car accident that took place last night. 

According to the Police Media Division, the OIC was driving a jeep when it struck a female pedestrian on the Chenkalady-Karadiyanaru road.

The woman, who sustained injuries in the collision, was admitted the Batticaloa Hospital for treatment.

Following the incident, the OIC was arrested and later produced before the Eravur Magistrate's Court this afternoon. He was granted bail following the hearing.
