Sri Lankan Journalists Awards for Gender Sensitivity

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sonali Wanigabaduge of News 1st and freelance journalist Aanya Wipulasena have been honored with the prestigious South Asia Laadli Media Awards for Gender Sensitivity 2024.

The awards ceremony, held in Mumbai, recognized their outstanding contributions to promoting gender sensitivity through their impactful journalism.

Wanigabaduge and Wipulasena were celebrated for their dedication to highlighting gender issues and advocating for gender equality in South Asia.

The South Asia edition of the Laadli Media and Advertising Awards for Gender Sensitivity 2024 (SALMAAGS) recognised 14 stellar contributions in the media space across seven (7) South Asian Nations.

The South Asia Laadli Media Awards for Gender Sensitivity, organized by the Population First initiative, aim to honor media professionals who have made significant efforts to address gender biases and promote gender-sensitive reporting.
