MOD Updates on Incentive Allowance for Tri Forces Security

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ministry of Defence has issued a clarification regarding the payment of the Motivation Incentive Allowance to tri forces personnel. 

Recent reports on various media and social media platforms suggested that this allowance for personnel attached to VIP security details had been discontinued.

In a letter addressed to the commanders of the tri forces, the Ministry of Defence clarified that the allowance for personnel assigned to the security details of former VIPs would no longer be paid, as these personnel would not be involved in such duties from September 22, 2024, onwards. 

Consequently, the allowance will only be paid up to September 22, 2024.

The Ministry further emphasized that the allowance for tri forces personnel attached to the security details of the Chief of Defence Staff, tri forces commanders, and former Presidents has not been stopped and will continue to be paid as usual.
