Enhanced Security for the Presidential Election

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police will deploy 63,000 officers to ensure a safe and orderly presidential election.

These officers will be stationed at counting centers and polling booths across the country.

In addition to the Police, the army will be deployed to key economic centers to prevent any disruptions. 

10,000 officers from the Civil Security Force will assist the Police in their duties. 

The Police Special Task Force will conduct mobile patrols to maintain security throughout the election period.

Minister of Public Security Tiran Alles said that the Police will use maximum force against anyone exhibiting violent behavior at polling booths on election day.
