EU Election Observers In Sri Lanka

COLOMBO (News 1st); The first group of European Union (EU) election observers has arrived in the island to monitor the upcoming presidential election.

In the coming weeks, another team of EU election observers is scheduled to arrive.

Additionally, a delegation from the Commonwealth Observer Group has also landed on the island to participate in the observation mission.

The National Election Commission has confirmed that permission was granted to these groups following their request to observe the election. 

Moreover, representatives from the Asian Network for Free Elections are expected to visit the island in the following weeks, adding to the diverse group of international observers committed to overseeing the presidential election.
