Primary suspect in STF Officer assault, arrested

COLOMBO (News 1st): A suspect was arrested over the incident in which a police special task force officer and his jeep were attacked in Katupotha.

The suspect was arrested during a raid conducted by the police STF on the Minuwangoda - Veyangoda road in Yakatuwa.

The suspect is a 34-year-old who had previously served in a military special forces unit.

ICE, five sets of military uniforms, and six live ammunition were found in the suspect's possession.

The suspect is being interrogated on detention orders.
