"I have notified the Election Commissioner that the election must be held on the scheduled date" - President

COLOMBO (News 1st): President Ranil Wickremesinghe informed the Chief Prelate of the Ramanna Maha Nikaya Most Ven. Makulewe Wimala Thero that he had informed the Election Commissioner of the need to hold the Presidential election on the scheduled date.

The President visited the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya headquarters yesterday (05) in Alvitigala Mawatha, Narahenpita.

There, he had a brief discussion with the Chief Prelate of the Ramanna Maha Nikaya Most Ven. Makulewe Wimala Thero.

During the visit, Most Ven. Makulewe Wimala Thero chanted Seth Pirith, bestowed his blessings upon President Ranil Wickremesinghe, and presented him with a commemorative gift.
