COLOMBO (News 1st); The Committee on Parliamentary Business met on Monday (1) and decided that the Late R. Sampanthan's body will be placed in the front hall of the Parliament complex on Wednesday (03) from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm.

This solemn occasion will allow parliamentarians, dignitaries, and others to pay their last respects to the late Leader of the Tamil National Alliance.

The final rites for the late R. Sampanthan are scheduled to take place in Trincomalee. Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena has issued instructions to relevant officials to ensure all necessary facilities are provided for the ceremony.

Tomorrow (02), the Parliament will convene, during which the President will deliver a special statement on debt restructuring.

Notably, the Parliament will not meet on the following day (03), as previously announced.

Earlier, the Committee on Parliamentary Business decided to debate the Resolution for the Implementation of External Debt Restructuring Agreements on July 2nd and 3rd.
