CPC Refinery to Become Separate Government-Owned Entity

COLOMBO (News 1st); Under the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation restructuring plan, the CPC-owned refinery will be set up as a separate government-owned and operated entity.

Minister of Power and Energy Kanchana Wijesekera said that this is to attract & raise necessary investments for improving the fuel quality, efficiency, capacity & lowering the cost.

The CPC current approved cadre & salary structure will also be revised & digital platforms will be introduced for multiple functions & services, said the Minister on X.

A discussion on the timeline & process for implementing the reforms took place with the senior management of CPC & Refinery on Monday (24), he added.
