President, Prime Minister and Opposition Leader extend greetings on Eid-al-Adha.

Issuing his message for the Hajj festival, President Ranil Wickremesinghe emphazied that in order to achieve spiritual and worldly success, individuals must abandon selfishness and embrace a life of sacrifice and harmony.

He further added that Muslims celebrate the Hajj festival each year with this noble aim in mind.

President Wickremesinghe added that on this occasion, Muslims from around the globe gather at a single place of worship, united in purpose, to pray for communal values that embody the hope of humanity.

The President said that The Hajj celebration fosters feelings of equality and brotherhood among all people, delivering a profound message for world peace.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawaradena issuing a message of greetings on Hajj Festival said that as a country, it is important that we further foster the society with spiritual values.

His message emphasizes that gathering together and performing the rituals associated with the religion has been practiced since ancient times and that the Islamic devotees also communicate the meaning of social coexistence by participating in the Hajj pilgrimage together.

Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena highlighted in his message the main objective of Hajj festival is to live in harmony with equality.

Opposition Leader, Sajith Premadasa issuing his message for Hajj Festival highlighted that throughout history, people have gathered for various religious observances and rituals, preserving traditions and fostering unity and that Hajj in Islam is one such festival.

Opposition Leader further said that as the fifth of the five great obligations in Islam, Hajj reaffirms devotion and trust in God with Millions of Muslims gather to sacrifice and celebrate with a shared purpose, highlighting the importance of collective humanity.

In his message, the opposition leader emphasizes that the religion aims to perfect human society through kindness and create a better community and that celebrations like Eid ul Adha remind us of this noble purpose, emphasizing mutual bonds and fraternity while discarding divisions and conflicts.
