Centre of Excellence for Women’s Healthcare declared open by President

COLOMBO (News 1st); President Ranil Wickremesinghe inaugurated the Centre of Excellence for Women’s Healthcare at the District General Hospital in Kilinochchi this morning.

This project, costing Rs. 5,320 million is in line with the government’s initiative to enhance health sector facilities nationwide, and was funded by the Government of the Netherlands.

The President said that the government has taken many special measures for the protection of women's rights.

He added that a separate commission will be appointed to implement the necessary intiatives to empower women by law.
