Body Of Man Who Went Missing From Girlfriend's House, Found In A Jungle

COLOMBO (News 1st); The lifeless body of a 31-year-old man who had gone missing in the Kabalaewa area of Kuliapitiya was located in a jungle in the Padiwendava area in Madampe.

Police Spokesperson & Attorney-at-Law, DIG Nihal Thalduwa said that it has been confirmed that this individual was murdered.

Authorities have initiated further investigations into the circumstances surrounding the deceased.

In a separate development, the police found an abandoned van suspected to be connected to the young man’s kidnapping on the 4th. The van was discovered near an old building in Hettipola.

The missing man had last been seen on the 22nd when he visited his girlfriend’s house in the Ilukhena area in Kuliyapitiya.

As part of the ongoing investigation, five individuals have been arrested on suspicion of involvement in the youth’s disappearance.
