Man With Travel Ban Arrested At BIA

COLOMBO (News 1st) The Homicide and Organized Crime Investigation Division of the Criminal Investigation Department successfully apprehended a suspect who was found attempting to travel to Dubai illegally.

The suspect, identified as a 46-year-old resident from the Hanwella area, was intercepted by law enforcement officials as he attempted to board a flight using a fake passport.

According to reports from the police, the suspect had been previously banned from traveling abroad following his alleged involvement in aiding and abetting a homicide.

The incident in question pertains to the killing of an individual engaged in trading activities within the Telijjawila area in Malimbada.

This ban was imposed on January 20, as authorities sought to prevent the suspect from leaving the country amidst ongoing investigations.
