Christians Celebrate Easter as Thousands of Police deployed to Safeguard Churches

The spirit of Easter fills Sri Lanka as Christians commemorate the resurrection of Jesus Christ.

Today's service is considered by many to be the holiest night of the year.

While the focus remains on devotion and celebration, security is paramount.

Police Spokesman, DIG Nihal Thalduwa, has detailed a comprehensive security plan.

A total of 6,522 police officers have been deployed to 1,873 Christian churches.

Additionally, 320 police special task force officers and 2,746 military personnel are bolstering security measures.
