COLOMBO (News 1st) - The expert committee appointed by the Minister of Health to investigate the recent reports of patients who experienced allergic reactions after they were administered antibiotics at hospitals, have begun their research.
The report on the matter will be submitted in the next three weeks.
The six-member committee is chaired by the Director of the Medical Research Institute in Borella.
The death of two women, including a pregnant mother, at the Peradeniya Teaching Hospital after being administered an anesthetic drug, as well as the death of a 21-year-old girl while being treated for a stomach ailment, led to controversy in recent days.
