Ranil is the most powerful President - Vajira

COLOMBO (News 1st); Vajira Abeywardena a member of Parliament, and the Chairman of the United National Party (UNP) said that President Ranil Wickremesinghe is the most powerful leader among present-day world leaders.

Speaking to reporters on Wednesday (24), the UNP Chairman said as per a world index on leadership, President Wickremesinghe is at the top.

"Some people cannot stand this. But we cannot do anything about it. It's the duty of our citizens to protect him," he said.

Moreover, the UNP Chairman said that a majority of the people who protested at the Occupy Galle Face site wanted a system change, and believe that Ranil Wickremesinghe is a leader who can deliver that system change.
