COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Minister Vasudeva Nanayakkara says that the current Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and the President are serving the interests of American diplomacy.
Speaking during a press briefing, the MP, who recently declared himself independent, said that Sri Lanka should not be 'caught' in the trap of the International Monetary Fund.
The MP said that while the IMF has several commendable programs such as the debt restructuring program, Sri Lanka should still be careful enough not to be trapped under the restrictions of the organization.
The Leader of the Patriotic National Front (PNF), Wasantha Bandara too, participating in the media briefing stated that approaching IMF would result in State service declining, in addition to local resources being taken over and protests.
