Fisheries industry hit hard by fuel shortage

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lankan fishermen have decided to refrain from setting out to sea citing the existing fuel shortage.

Many fishermen have been facing serious difficulties in sourcing fuel for their vessels, and fear that even if they obtain a certain amount, they might lose fuel to return.

As a result, many Sri Lankan fishermen had decided not to set out to sea due to the shortage of Diesel and Kerosene in the country.
