Chinese Ambassador meets Foreign Minister, Opposition Leader, assures aid

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Chinese Ambassador of Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Prof. G.L. Peiris today (21) engaged in discussions over the current social and economic situation in Sri Lanka. 

Furthermore, China's assistance to Sri Lankans was also discussed between the two dignitaries. 

The Chinese Ambassador also took steps to meet with the Leader of the Opposition, Sajith Premadasa today. 

Yesterday (20), the Chinese Embassy tweeted that the Chinese Foreign Ministry and the China International Development Cooperation Agency announced that China will provide emergency humanitarian assistance to Sri Lanka to help its people overcome current difficulties.
