COLOMBO (News 1st); The final report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday Attack has been handed over to Parliament in all volumes, including the evidence.
According to the Presidential Media Unit, the 88-volume report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry was presented to Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena by Parliamentary Director General Harigupta Rohanadheera in Parliament this morning (22).
The final report of the Commission of Inquiry into the Easter Sunday attack was tabled in Parliament on April 8th, 2021, and for legal reasons no relevant evidence has been released so far, the statement said.
The Presidential Media Unit stated that the relevant files had to be handed over to Parliament on the instructions of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa for further reference to the findings of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry as they need to be communicated to the public.
