Tense situation at Wariyapola PS with two budget defeats

COLOMBO (News 1st): A tense situation arose at the Wariyapola Pradeshiya Sabha that is controlled by the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna on Thursday (30).

The tensions come days after the Pradeshiya Sabha's budget was defeated twice previously.

The Opposition had demanded the Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman to resign in two weeks as the budget had been defeated twice on instances prior.

Subsequently, a tense situation arose at the premises.

However, the Pradeshiya Sabha Chairman had said that the the Governor has not informed him to resign yet.
