COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka has taken measures to deploy a home-visit vaccination drive for those who are unable to visit the respective vaccination centers.

Dr. Sudarshini Fernandopulle, the State Minister of Primary Health Care, Epidemics and COVID Disease Control said all regional health officers have been instructed to ensure all those who have not been vaccinated are directed to the vaccination program.

She urged all those above the age of 30 to visit the nearest vaccination center and obtain the vaccine if they are yet to do so.

President Gotabaya Rajapaksa on Friday (05) has instructed the health sector to provide the necessary facilities for all above the age of 30 to obtain the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine from any vaccination center designated for the administration of the second dose of the vaccine.

The President’s Media Division said the government had procured vaccines so that all above the age of 18 in Sri Lanka can be provided with both doses of the vaccine, before September.

The Government is also prepared to provide a third vaccine dose as well, said the statement.
