COVID death toll climbs to 892 in Sri Lanka with 24 confirmed fatalities on Thursday (13)

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Director General of Health Services today confirmed 24 deaths that occurred from 08th to 13th May, due to Covid-19 virus infection.  Accordingly, the total number of deaths due to Covid-19 infection in Sri Lanka is 892.

1. The deceased is a 47 year old male resident in Dambulla. He died on 10.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Kurunegala. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia and a heart disease.

2. The deceased is a 67 year old female resident in Gampola. She died on 13.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Gampola. The cause of death is mentioned as Exacerbation of bronchial asthma with COVID infection.

3. The deceased is an 81 year old male resident in Borella. He died on 12.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

4. The deceased is a 73 year old male resident in Ragama. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus while undergoing treatments in Colombo North Teaching Hospital and transferred to District Hospital Divulapitiya. Then he was transferred to the National Hospital Colombo where he died on 13.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia

5. The deceased is a 49 year old female resident in Wennaruwa. She died on 13.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Dambadeniya. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia, Asthma, Diabetes Mellitus and Hypertension.

6. The deceased is a 77 year old female resident in Galle. She died on 12.05.2021 in her residence and the cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

7. The deceased is a 61 year old female resident in Ambalangoda. She died on 11.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Teaching Hospital Karapitiya. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

8. The deceased is a 75 year old female resident in Ahangama. She died on 11.05.2021 in her residence and the cause of death is mentioned as Covid pneumonia.

9. The deceased is a 62 year old male resident in Mahagama. He died on 13.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia, Covid 19 chest infection, Diabetes Mellitus and Chronic Kidney disease.

10. The deceased is a 76 year old male resident in Koswatta. He died on 12.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia,

11. The deceased is a 63 year old male resident in Mount Lavinia. He died on 12.05.2021 in a Covid Treatment Centre maintained in a hotel. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.

12. The deceased is a 43 year old female resident in Hindagala. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from Base Hospital Gampola to the National Hospital Kandy where she died on 12.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.

13. The deceased is a 77 year old male resident in Kalagedihena. He died on 12.05.2021 in his residence. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19 lung infection.

14. The deceased is a 72 year old female resident in Wellampitiya. She was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from National Hospital Colombo to the Base Hospital Homagama where she died on 12.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia. And Chronic Kidney Disease.

15. The deceased is a 40 year old female resident in Gonapal. She was transferred from Base Hospital Horana to the Base Hospital Homagama where she died on 12.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia. And Chronic Kidney Disease.

16. The deceased is a 53 year old male resident in Rikillagaskada. He died on 08.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Kandy. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia Spinal cord cyst with COVID 19.

17. The deceased is a 62 year old male resident in Jayanthipura. He died on 09.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Kandy. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.

18. The deceased is an 87 year old male resident in Polgolla. He died on 11.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in National Hospital Kandy. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.

19. The deceased is a 78 year old male resident in Pudaluoya. He was transferred from Kothmale Hospital to the District Hospital Nuwara Eliya where he died on 12.05.2021. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.

20. The deceased is a 46 year old male resident in Nanuoya. He died on 11.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in District Hospital Nuwara Eliya. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.

21. The deceased is a 79 year old female resident in Madapatha. She died on 11.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in a private hospital in Colombo. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19 Pneumonia with sepsis, Diabetes mellitus, hypertension and Chronic kidney Disease.

22. The deceased is a 76 year old male resident in Batagoda. He died on 12.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia and heart Disease .

23. The deceased is an 80 year old male resident in Gonapola. He died on 12.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Horana. The cause of death is mentioned as COVID 19 chest Infection and its complications with a Heart disease.

24. The deceased is an 86 year old male resident in Gampola. He died on 12.05.2021 while undergoing treatments in Base Hospital Gampola. The cause of death is mentioned as Covid Pneumonia.
