293 Sri Lankans receive Chinese COVID vaccine on Saturday (08)

COLOMBO (News 1st); 293 Sri Lankans were given the Chinese Sinopharm COVID-19 vaccine on Saturday (08) after the World Health Organization (WHO) granted emergency approval for a Covid vaccine made by Chinese state-owned company Sinopharm.

In addition, a total of 2,996 Sri Lankans were given the Russian Sputnik COVID-19 Vaccine from the 30th of April to the 09th of May.

Sputnik V is developed by the Gamaleya National Research Center of Epidemiology in Russia.

Further mote, a total of 194,905 Sri Lankans were given the second dose of the COVISHIELD vaccine, said the Epidemiology Unit of the Ministry of Health in its daily immunization report.
