(VIDEO) Angry locals confront Moratuwa Mayor; Police reprimanded by Mayor

COLOMBO (News 1st); Moratuwa Mayor Saman Lal Fernando was confronted by an angry group of locals when municipal workers attempted to renovate a canal in Katubedda.

The Mayor alleges that locals had expanded their residence by obstructing the canal, and the locals denied these allegations claiming they made multiple requests from the authorities to renovate the canal properly.

Locals claim the Mayor is acting arbitrarily.

An argument broke out between locals and the Mayor.

The Mayor of Moratuwa Saman Lal Fernando also snapped at police officers who intervened to solve the issue.
