COLOMBO (News1st): Public security minister Sarath Weerasekara has defended his statement identifying "Nawfer Moulavi" as the mastermind of the 2019 April 21st attacks. "If anyone has evidence of another mastermind responsible for the attacks, please hand over such evidence to us," Weerasekara, a retired rear admiral said Friday. He pointed out that the presidential commission that probed the April 21st attacks, highlights the role played by "Naufer Moulavi" in the bombings. "We will take steps to punish those responsible and all of their assets will be confiscated," the public security minister said. Opposition lawmaker Vijitha Herath questioned the delay in identifying "Nawfer Moulavi" as the mastermind although he has been in custody for two years. "All of a sudden, he has been identified as the mastermind of the attack. How can this happen? He was never produced before the presidential commission," Herath observed.
