Colombo (News 1st); There is a serious concern as to whether Zahran Hashim, the leader of the group that carried out suicide attacks in 2019, was in fact an agent of Israeli Intelligence, claimed Rauff Hakeem, the leader of the Sri Lanka Muslim Congress.

Hakeem told Parliament on Wednesday (07) that facts linking Zaharan Hashim to Israeli Intelligence were overlooked in the report of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry appointed to probe to 2019 Terror Attacks. "Page 106 of the PCoI report states Zaharan on the 10th of October 2018, issued a letter on his Facebook account claiming that a person called Pakkam Bin-abu, who maintains a Facebook account by that name, is, in reality, an informant of Indian Intelligence, although he publishes material justifying the ideology," said Hakeem quoting the PCoI report. "Pakkam Bin-abu on the 11th of October 2018 claimed that Zaharan was an agent of Israeli Intelligence and although he tries to project himself as a hero attracting youth towards the IS ideology, he is in fact equal to a lady," he further claimed quoting the PCoI report.
