Deduru Oya Hydro Power Plant commissioned

Colombo (News 1st); The Deduru Oya Hydro Power Plant was commission on Thursday (01), by Irrigation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa at the Deduru Oya Reservoir premises. This power plant has a capacity of 1300 KW and construction commenced in 2019 at a cost of more than Rs. 300 Million. Speaking at the inauguration, Irrigation Minister Chamal Rajapaksa said he is in the process of locating the source of funds for many environmentalists who he claimed to be working for non-governmental organizations. "We need to find out the motive," said the Minister adding if a tank is not constructed and the land's development there will be no use of the lands for the people living in the area.
