Property of Colombo schools at risk of being taken over; warns Patali

Colombo (News 1st); There are attempts to take control of school property in Colombo, said MP Patali Champika on Thursday (25).

"There are reports that speak of attempts to take over school property including that of Devi Balika Vidyalaya in Colombo," said the MP adding the government is attempting to sell the property where the Head Office of People's Bank, Head of Office of Bank of Ceylon, Sri Lanka Air Force Headquarters, Slave Island Police are located at. Commenting on Arcade Independence Square, the MP said it is disappointing to note that the government is giving away property in Colombo to their associates adding he would not be surprised if the government sells Independence Square to a businessman as well.
