COLOMBO (News 1st): The construction work of the first Liquid Natural Gas power plant or L.N.G. Power Plant in Sri Lanka was inaugurated today (Mar. 05) under the patronage of Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.
The 350 MW Liquid Natural Gas power plant will be established in Kerawalapitiya.
The project is expected to cost a sum of Rs. 40 billion for completion.
Through the new L.N.G. Power Plant, 200 MW-s of power will be added to the National Grid, within a period of two years.
