UNHRC resolution "political"; says foreign minister

COLOMBO (News1st): The UN Human Rights Council resolution against Sri Lanka is fuelled on political motives and not human rights, foreign minister Dinesh Gunawardana has said. He made these remarks after calling on Ven. Elle Gunawansa Thero at the Dharma Institute in Colombo. During the meeting, Ven. Gunawansa Thero urged the foreign minister to avoid making remarks that would cause harm to the country. "Don't use your words to create any unnecessary tension within the country," he said.
