Kerawalapitiya Garbage Dump Fire Doused

COLOMBO (News 1st): The fire that broke out at the Muthurajawela - Kerawalapitiya waste disposal site on Thursday evening (Feb. 18), was brought under control at around 8:00 am on Friday (Feb. 19). The blaze engulfed an area of around 4 acres of the disposal site, where polythene and plastic waste is discarded. The Tri-Forces and Police also joined the Fire Brigade to put out the fire. The 15th Drone Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery also joined the efforts to contain the fire.
