SUSPECT ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF PISTOL

Colombo (News 1st): The Police Special Task Force personnel attached to the Gonahena Camp arrested a 38-year-old male for the illegal possession of a 09mm pistol and two magazines.

In addition, Rs. 27.5 Million in cash and a 1200cc motorcycle were recovered following a search of the suspect's residence, said Police Spokesperson DIG Ajith Rohana. He was handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division for processing and was later detained on a special detention order for investigations. The Colombo Crimes Division will also probe into the assets of the suspects as well as how he came into posses a pistol and ammo.
