Decision to reopen schools made in consultation with stakeholders

Colombo (News 1st); The decision to re-open schools was made following consultation with all necessary stakeholders, said Professor G. L. Peiris, Sri Lanka's Education Minister on Friday (20) to Parliament.

The Education Minister said the health security of the students is a top priority.

Responding to MP Chaminda Wijesiri the Minister of education stated there are 373 national schools in Sri Lanka and there are 203 schools with principals having the qualifications to hold the post of principal.

The Minister of education stated there are 130 schools with principals serving without such qualifications.
