GMOA resigns from health ministry's technical committee

COLOMBO (News1st): The Government Medical Officers Association (GMOA) has announced its decision to resign from the Health Ministry's technical committee handling matters concerning COVID-19. GMOA editor Dr Haritha Aluthge said the reason for this decision was the failure of the government to consider its requests over the battle against the pandemic. "Why can't a map indicating all COVID-19 cases reported in the country be prepared and published?"Dr Aluthge questioned. He called on the authorities to increase the number of PCR tests to "satisfactory levels". "...if this process does not take place, there is no point of continuing to directly serve in the technical committee of the health ministry," Dr Aluthge remarked.
