Colombo (News 1st); This week will be crucial in combating COVID-19 and preventing its spread, said Lieutenant General Shavendra Silva, the Head of the National Operations Centre for Prevention of COVID-19 Outbreak (NOCPCO) and Commander of the Army.
He dismissed reports which claimed a female student from Kegalle sitting for the Advanced Level Examination had tested positive for COVID-19, noting she is only a close contact.
He urged the general public to follow the health guidelines introduced by the government whenever stepping out of the house.
