Colombo (News 1st); The Asgiri Chapter of the Siam Sect warned, if the amendments recommended by the committee which revisited the 20th Amendment to the Constitution are not made before the 20th Amendment is actually passed in Parliament, it could lead to serious complications.
Venerable (Dr.) Medagama Dhammananda Thero, Chief Lekakadikari of the Asgiri Chapter of Siam Sect said the primary objective should be to introduce a new constitution adding the present situation in the country is favorable towards seeking the views of the general public in order to do so.
The Venerable Thero stressed when moving towards a 20th Amendment one must review the impact the introductions could pose to the Sri Lankan people and State Administration.
