Colombo (News 1st);  Leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna Anura Kumara Dissanayake on Monday (28) said the evidence provided by Ex-Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe claiming the Anti-Corruption Committee was established with National Executive Council, is false.

Dissanayake made this comment when he appeared at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry probing incidents of Political Victimization to provide evidence with regard to a complaint filed by the Ex-Director General of the Divineguma Department, Kithsiri Ranawaka.

In his evidence, Former Prime Minister Wickremesinghe said the Anti-Corruption Committee was set-up in late 2016, either November or December.

Further, Dissanayake said he was not aware of being appointed as the Coordinator of the Anti-Corruption Committee's Quick Response Committee adding he never represented such a committee and did not coordinate any matter.
