Colombo (News 1st); General Secretary of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party Dayasiri Jayasekera said the party must prepare itself to re-enter politics.
Speaking at the memorial of the late S. W. R. D. Bandaranaike at the SLFP Headquarters in Colombo, Jayasekera said the party must be prepared to face challenges of losing positions and perk in its efforts to re-enter the political sphere.
"We will not inconvenience the government by making public our issues. Instead, we will address them to the President and the Prime Minister," said the SLFP General Secretary.
The SLFP must support the process to amend the constitution, he added.
Former President Maithripala Sirisena, who is also the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party said when elected in 2015 he made great attempts to the government the country as per the vision of the late Bandaranaike adding despite the setback, the SLFP will have a definite future in Sri Lankan politics.
