CID concludes investigations against Ex-Police Chief & Ex-Defence Secretary

Colombo (News 1st); The Criminal Investigations Department informed Colombo Additional Magistrate R. U. Jayasuriya, it concluded the investigations against Ex-Inspector General of Police Pujith Jayasundara and Ex-Defence Secretary Hemasiri Fernando.
The duo are charged with neglecting their duties by failing to take necessary action to prevent the 2019 April 21st Terror Attacks despite having intelligence information of the attacks.
The CID informed the court the case files were sent to the Attorney General for legal advice.
The matter will be called upon the 17th of March 2021 and the Ex-IGP and Ex-Defence Secretary were ordered to be present in court on that day.
