Colombo (News 1st); Kurunegala District Candidate of the National People's Power movement Namal Karunaratne filed a writ petition with the Court of Appeal seeking the immediate arrest of the Mayor of Kurunegala.
This is with regard to the demolition of a building in Kurunegala with archaeological value, believed to be the ancient Kings Assembly Hall dating back to the Kurunegala Kingdom era
