JVP Leader ready to work with Frontline Socialists (VIDEO)

Colombo (News 1st);  JVP Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake said he is prepared to work with the Frontline Socialists Party in the struggle towards democracy.

Speaking to News 1st's Suranga Senanayake on the NewsLine segment, Dissanayake said if the Frontline Socialist Party would be part of the common movement which was formed to secure the rights of the people, the JVP will welcome the FSP.

Anura Kumara Dissanayake said he accepts the invitation to work together, extended by the FSPs Kumar Gunaratnam on the 11th of June, also on the NewsLine Segment.

Noting there are struggles for democracy and against imperialism in Sri Lanka as well as to secure the rights of the people of the country, AKD said "We never use these struggles to achieve petty political objectives".

"Our main aim was to form a common movement to secure victory in these struggles and that is why we formed the National People's Power (NPP) movement", said the JVP Leader adding those who opposed the JVP in idealogy have joined the movement.
