COLOMBO(News 1st): With the addition of the 03 new COVID-19 patients yesterday, the number of COVID-19 cases in the country rose to 1,880.
While two of the patients discovered yesterday were Navy officials attached to the Sri Lankan Navy the other patient is a returnee from Qatar.
This brings the total number of Navy Officials who contracted COVID-19 to 876 while 682 Navy officials have fully recovered and left treatment centers, the acting chief of defense staff and Army Commander, Lt. Gen Shavendra Silva said.
194 Navy Officials are currently receiving treatment for the virus, the Army Commander added.
Out of the 594 returnees from abroad who contracted COVID-19, 129 people have fully recovered, while 462 Returnees are currently receiving treatment, according to the Army Commander.
165 people who completed their quarantine in the quarantine center at the Rajagiriya Ayurveda hospital will leave for their homes today, he further added.
He further said, 13,197 people have successfully completed their quarantine and 4,765 people are currently being quarantined at 44 quarantine centers.
